Shari N. Olarte, MA, CAE is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in governance and association management. Currently serving as the Director of Governance at the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), Shari plays a pivotal role in overseeing the organization's governance framework, leadership development, and DEI policies and practices.
With a Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential, Shari brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role. Her career is marked by a commitment to excellence and a passion for fostering effective governance practices within professional associations. Shari's leadership is characterized by her strategic vision and her ability to navigate complex organizational landscapes. She is dedicated to promoting the mission and values of AAMFT, supporting its members, and enhancing the overall effectiveness of the association.
Born and raised in New York, Shari moved to Washington, DC to receive her Master's in Forensic Psychology, where she lived for over eight years. She now resides in Baltimore with her family. In addition to her professional achievements, Shari is proud to represent both her Puerto Rican and Colombian heritage. She is known for her collaborative approach and her ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders. Her contributions have been instrumental in advancing the goals of AAMFT and ensuring its continued success.
Justin Reyes is Manager, Member Engagement for the Latino Corporate Directors Association.
He is an advocate for underserved & vulnerable communities with 7 years of Association Management experience. His passion for advocacy, professional development, DEI, workforce development, and networking has led him to engage in as a volunteer over the last 17 years within many nonprofits.
Today as the Member Engagement Manager at the Latino Corporate Directors Association Justin is responsible for working collaboratively with the LCDA cross-functional teams to support the recruitment of Latino Talent and to accelerate Hispanic/Latino placements on corporate boards including Fortune 1000 Boards. Previously, he served as a Business Development Director with the Associated Builders and Contractors-Heart of America Chapter managing all aspects in membership and business development. Justin also served as a Regional Field Representative with the National Association of Home Builders, maintaining component relations, and delivering programs centered on recruitment & retention and good governance best practices.
Justin commits time on the ASAE-Government Relations and Advocacy Professionals Council, Mattie Rhodes Center-Cultural Arts Committee, National WWI Museum & Memorial-Modernists Council, and Missouri Democratic Party-Latino Caucus. Justin earned his B.S. in Agricultural Science at Texas A&M University and calls Kansas City home with his wife Courtney, and two fur babies, Bailey and Begonia.
