Laurie’s career spans global roles across several industries and continents. She has held executive roles in both for-profit and nonprofit sectors with global organizations such as Aventis Pharmaceuticals Inc., Project Management Institute, and is now CEO emerita of the Healthcare Businesswomen Association (HBA). Laurie grew HBA to a community of 60K with more than 170 company members and a presence on nearly every continent.
Laurie is a keynote speaker and panelist energizing audiences large and small on a wide range of leadership topics, a consultant with Fortune 100 companies, and a trusted mentor and coach to leaders at all career stages. She has been recognized as Mentor of the Year by the American Society of Association Executives, 100 Most Inspiring People in the Life Sciences, Red Jacket by PharmaVOICE, Healthcare Champion by National Association of Female Executives, and Ragan’s Top Women in Wellness and HR Awards. She earned a degree in microbiology from the University of Maryland, an advanced scientific degree in pharmacy from the University of Washington, and a master’s degree in software engineering management from the University of Luton, England. She is a licensed pharmacist and a certified association executive (CAE).
