Join us for our continued panel discussion series. The panel will be led through a conversation in the future of leadership in associations. Themes will include trends, challenges, and personal experiences association leaders on the rise.

Panelists

Eboni Russell

Eboni has over a decade of experience in associations and non-profits. She is a recipient of The Network Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award—an award that honors black professionals for significant contributions to their respective industries and professions. As a self-professed “life-long learner,” Eboni values professional development and continuing education and is enrolled in the non-profit and association management graduate program at the University of Maryland Global Campus. She has been an engaged member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) since 2016. Eboni also served on ASAE’s Young Professional Advisory Committee (YPAC) and participated in the 2021 cohort of the Next Gen Association Summit. In 2021, Eboni was a recipient of Association Forum’s Forty Under 40 Award.

Kristen Truong

Kristen Truong is the Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions' Director of Public Affairs. As part of a small staff, she leads communications/marketing, plans association events and the Annual Conference, implements the strategic plan, and manages the volunteers and committees, among other responsibilities. She has been a member of the ASAE Young Professionals Committee for two years and chairs the Goal 1 subcommittee on creating programming for young and new association professionals. She is also a member of ASAE's inaugural Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Advisory Group and part of the subgroup that wrote the summary and recommendations paper. As a Young Professional and member of the AAPI community, she is passionate about creating pathways for the next generation and opportunities for AAPI individuals in the association profession.

Michael Pereira

Michael Pereira is an association professional with solid experience in education and development of strategic planning for learning initiatives to broaden association non-dues revenues, optimizing learning experiences for accessibility and innovation, fostering engagement and global learning. He currently serves as the Associate Director of Learning and Development at NAFSA: Association for International Educators.  

Michael is the upcoming vice-chair of the ASAE Young Professional Advisory Committee and was honored to be selected as the 2022 ASAE NextGen Scholar. He also serves in the Communication Committee at the Association Latinos, where he works to promote an environment where everyone, at all levels, feels inclusive and empowered to share their innovative and diverse voices.


Moderator: Cammela Teel ACC, CPCC, PHR, SHRM-CP

Cammela Teel is the Sr. Director, Organizational Development & Training at the World Wildlife Fund. In her role, she develops and executes learning initiatives for WWF staff, facilitates individual, team and manager development workshops and delivers leadership development activities such as 360-degree feedback.  She’s a certified coach and a member of the WWF’s internal coach cadre where she provides coaching for leaders in the US, South America, Africa and Europe. Cammela is passionate about manager and leadership development and a current project she’s excited about is designing a comprehensive approach to developing people managers at WWF.
