Alan Chewning
Alan is the Senior Manager for Membership and Chapter Relations at the Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP). He has spent the last 15 years in the association world focusing on membership, strategic planning, and component relations. In 2020, he was the Chair of ASAE’s Component Relations and Volunteer Management Council.
Annessa Kirby
Annessa is an association management professional with over 20 years experience in component relations, member engagement, and volunteer management. Most recently, Annessa was the director of component relations and volunteer services at AHIMA where she focused on the development and execution of strategies to enhance the maturity and health of component associations, improve the member value proposition and collaborate with volunteer leaders. Annessa has a proven track record with effectively recruiting, training, and managing volunteers, and is dedicated to cultivating positive relationships, and ensuring member needs and organizational goals are met.
Kevin D. Watkins, CAE
Kevin is the Senior Vice President, Member & Component Services at The American Institute of Architects (AIA). In this role, he provides strategic insight on matters involving membership, AIA’s 200+ components, and provides counsel on issues of impact to these areas.
Before joining AIA, Kevin held key leadership roles focused on membership development and component relations at the American Institute of Physics, the National Apartment Association, and the National Association of REALTORS®.
Moderator: Benita Stocks
Benita brings her experience as the Director of Membership and Programs for the NAIOP Northern Virginia, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, to the role of moderator. As an experienced small-staff component, Benita will guide the conversation and contribute the voice of component staff.
